Kindness

We live in an ageing society, many people live alone. Others in our community are caring for others who are struggling with a long term condition or disability and spend long hours, day on and day out without meaningful conversation. Many people come to the shops just to have some human contact. Think about, when you walk down the street – just a smile or nod can make difference to people , engaging in small talk and just taking a moment to think mindfully when you walk down the street about what impression we are giving to those around us. We all are responsible for the neighborliness in our community. A smile can make a huge difference.

Did you know that our brain lights up when we show acts of kindness In today’s self-absorbed world have we forgotten that healthy living is about ‘Us’ not just about my life and me, selfies and ‘me time’ , important as those things might be? Neuroscience shows virtue has its own reward. When we say something kind to someone it lights up your brain.

Kindness can be developed though mindfulness and connecting with others improves our health.
