I am thinking about an interesting place to eat and drink, for different generations that can be used for the benefit of all, and particularly a place where people living with dementia and their families can go and feel very at home. This was inspired by a visit to Denmark recently where a fantastic 50’s retro eating house was found off a side road unexpectedly. Like an Aladdin’s Cave it was full of treasures and memorabilia of the decade when I was born.
My brother plays this music all the time and loves this era. It is now fashionable and has an appeal to both young and old. What a great idea for communities to have such a diner where other activities could take place. It would take imagination but what a wonderful use of unused shops and buildings I thought! Having such a place for community benefit might inspire baby boomers to look into their attics for things from their child hood years that would bring pleasure and therapeutic value to many.
